I am wanting to replace the Williams sights on my Single 10. I looked at the parts list for the Single 6 and it mentions "determine if the sight has a 'bump' or not". Those of you that swapped the sights, what part did you order , bump or no bump ? I just want the RAMP front sight like on my Single Six. thanks Jerry

Bump or no bump refers to the rear sight blade only. Old ones have no bump and some new ones do. If you get the whole rear sight it comes with the proper blade.

If you want a ramped front sight like the standard single six shots, buy # SXR-36. If you want a patridge post sight, get the one for the 22 autos. Just screw either one on in place of yours. That Williams sight is $40 bucks from Ruger, don't mis-place it....

Well, I learn something every day!
I always thought that "bump or no bump" referred to the bottom of the frame cutout for the adjustable sight. some are flat bottomed and some have a raised part that I assumed was to give more threads for the elevation screw.

Thanks.
GHP

you actually have to LOOK, see, the bottom of the rear sight cutout on the cylinder frame, there will be a raised area for the so called "bump" to go over......they will work but the sight body will look out of place and either be too high or too low.......not flush, level with the top strap..........also to be LONG enough for the cutout, seen some folks put semi auto .22 sights that are way too short, and there will be a big gap in the front of the rear sight body....................part number should be listed in your new guns owners manual.......

rugerguy, I removed the Williams rear sight and where the elevation screw threads into the frame there is a raised area at that point, is that the "bump" or is the bump something else. Hondo44 I am aware of the sight blade difference, I had to "work" a blade once to make it fit in my Liberty SBH. thanks Jerry

Sorry Jerry,
I just learned about this other "bump or no bump" issue. Had to look at one of my newer models.

Sounds like you have the bump Rugerguy was describing. Standard single six #70030 Rear sight assembly w/bump in frame about $17 from Brownells. And there's a new part # for the ramp front sight #XR13600, $7.70 Or you can get the Bisley Patridge post sight # BRN-36-22, $7.70.

Hey Jim, it looks like Brownells and Midway and Numrich are all on backorder. I'll try Ruger on Monday. I like the ramp site for the front. I will not misplace the Williams stuff, I hope. thanks Jerry

WOW. I know there's been several posts by people wanting to get rid of the Williams sights. If Ruger is out, Brownell's will put on backorder for you. I don't think Ruger will, they just tell you to call back.

Hey Jim, Thanks for the info, I had seen that but I wanted the ramp front sight. All of my other Rugers have ramp sights and I'm kinda use to them. I took the 10 out Saturday for a shoot and the Fiber Optic sights darn near blinded me in the bright sun. I ordered the regular rear with bump and ramp front from Ruger this A.M. I also ordered the front sight screw( $2.00 ), $30.00 for all of it. thanks Jerry
