Single Six question

I just bought a nib stainless Single Six. I was looking thur the manual and it
talked about a internal locking device. The first thing I noted was that there
was no key fore the lock. I took the ngrips off and the gun does not have the internal lock.
The fired case that came with it shows the dat e of Oct. 15 2010. The ser. # is
265-35xxx.
Is this normal or did I just get lucky ?

they overlapped, some did and some didn't ,so guess you were "lucky"??? ( see no reason to get excited) as the Ruger locks so far have NOT been an "issue", nor problem far as we know........

Thanks for your reply. I just don't care for the idea of an internal lock. I guess I'm just stuck in my old ways.

At least the lock is indeed "internal" and one can certainly "ignore it".

I didn't think they had started putting locks on the stainless guns yet?

The ruger internal lock is the best on the market in my opinion. They are put out of sight and the only way to access them is to drill a hole in your grip or remove it everytime you want to lock your gun. I have never heard of one causing any problems. And I own many with the lock but don't have a hole in any of my grips to use the lock. I just forget its there and enjoy my guns.

Right...no stainless guns have internal locks except for the New Vaqueros and the TALO stainless .44 Special.
