Hey guys

Acquired a 1971, according to Ruger site, Single Six. Serial # 60-659XX. It is in original red/black box. Hardly any wear, mostly on the left side from riding in the box for 40+ years. It says 22 cal Single Six on left side. Ruger shows it as a "Super Single Six" It came with a 22mag cyl installed, and no other 22lr cyl. I was wondering if it should have a 22lr? The last 4 serial #s are scratched on the front of the mag cyl. It is a 6.5" barrel with adjustable sights.

Thanks for the help

As of now no Magnum only Super Single-Sixes have been found with a 60 or 61 Digit prefix serial number. Most likely your gun is missing the LR cylinder. Only a letter from Ruger would verify your gun as a Magnum only.

I agree with 'street' and that being also back then, the early versions, it was the "spare" (auxiliery cylinder) that was the one that had the 'markings ( last 3 digits of the guns serial number)
many we've had over the years were just this way, the LR cylinder was NOT marked, just the magnum (spare)........
