In the past- another country.
I have a chance to buy a 32 Mag. single six.

Just wondering how those of you that have them- like them?

Do you think they are suitable for concealed carry?

Hard to find Ammo? It seems so and expensive.

Accuracy?

Can it accept 32 20 ammo? Or any other 32 rounds?

Thanks for any info you care to share.

I have several and love them! I think it's the best factory 6 shot center fire Single Six bar none, but only blued with the aluminum grip frame. The weight is just right for carrying all day on the hip. I wouldn't even look at a stainless, but that's just me. What configuration are you considering buying?

I can't say about factory ammo because I reload. The standard factory loads are pretty pitiful, but would still be great fun to shoot. The .32 mag. is just capable of so much more, so I load mine quite a bit hotter.

They will also shoot S&W .32 longs, but I can't see why unless you find them cheap.

Oops, accuracy: I don't recall measuring the groups at 25 yds., but I was pleased. 2" or less, perhaps much less, should be no problem at that distance off a rest.

My gaggle of 32Magnums, nahhhh,,, I don't like them ,,,, like em a lot!!!
I have a 5.5" SSM marked gun and a 327M S7 not pictured.
Ammo depends on area's of the country, but with the interweb it's just a click away. The factory loads are ok but the 32 really calls out for handloading.
Factory Ammo Expensive; I bought some when I aquired my first 32, federal 85grjhp / 90grlrn, it did seem a little pricey,
As soon as I could put 11gr H110 under a 100gr Hornady XTP and light it off with a Winchester SPM primer, I haven't looked back.
There ok for CC, I'm guessing the one your looking at is a 4.6" barrel? My 9.5" Brass Bisley probably not so good.
All of mine are accurate.
32/20 NO, 32 longs & shorts YES.

I only have four, two at 4 5/8" and two at 4 1/8" that were longer barrels. All are blued.

#1. is a Vaquerito with it's original, steel short grip frame and steel ERH, case colored frame.

#2. is an original but with stainless steel XR3-RED grip frame, blue steel ERH.

#3 is 4 1/8" (was 5 1/2"), steel XR3 grip frame and steel ERH from a new model flat top. I reamed the cyl chambers to 32-20 (also still chambers 32 H&R Mag). The 32-20 ammo has to have the bullet seated deeper than normal. The loading chute is enlarged slightly for the larger .32/20 case rims.

#4 is 4 1/8", with Vaquerito short steel grip frame and I deepened the Cyl chambers 1/8" and it also chambers 327 Fed Mag*.

*It is true that all the 'professional' 327 conversions use a longer new made cylinder that fills the cyl window with no barrel protruding thru the frame. But after speaking with a few custom builders, they had no concerns about the 32 H&R Mag cyl strength when reamed 1/8” deeper for the 327.

I do not build cylinders and did not like the price of custom built cyls. I decided the factory .32 Mag cyl would have to do. Factory loaded .327 Mag cartridges are only ~.003” longer than the factory 32 H&R chambers. Originally I thought I'd have to run the factory loads thru my seating die and seat the bullets a couple of .001" deeper in the case, but didn't have to. Believe it or not they function perfectly by taking advantage of the barrel/cylinder gap spacing. I know it might be counterintuitive but as they say, truth can be stranger than fiction. Even though the .327 Fed mags in the 85 Gr HP Hyrda shock and 100 gr FP loads are longer than the .32 H&R Mag chambers, the ~ .005" bar/cyl gap is sufficient for the loaded cyl to rotate w/o interference.

The 32 H&R Mag is carried by many for self defense, reportedly equal to 38 Spl + Ps. Hand loading can really improve the 32 H&R potential but then some worry about carry gun liability with hand loaded ammo. Therefore I prefer the .327 factory ammo for a carry gun.

My #2 Super Single Six Magnum .32 H&R Mag Bisley hammer with modified spur, Stainless Steel grip frame, steel ejector rod housing, SBH grooved trigger w/web removed, Colt ejector rod, and free-spin cylinder pawl for ease of aligning the chambers with the loading gate.

I have a 6.5 bbl blued, I reload also, yes ammo is a little hard to find. I'm very happy with mine. it's a great shooter, seems accurate and very well made. Just shot it some today, it clangs my steel targets very nicely. It's a keeper !

Like them? Heck no,, I really really like them!

Ammo,,, buy it,,, save the brass & reload it. I also cast & powder coat my own slugs. I have 3 molds I believe.

Love mine. I think it's hands down the best woods walking pistol for areas that don't have bears. While it would not be my first choice for concealed carry, it will do the job if your comfortable with the limitations of a single action. That said, I think the Single Seven has the advantage and it has replaced my 32 magnum for walking duties.

I shoot more 32's than any other round all year long but as mentioned you really need to handload for it. A lb. of powder goes a long ways!

Buy it!
Never sell it.
I've had sellers remorse for 25 years over a 4 5/8" .32 Mag.

I have 8 different single sixes in 32 H&R as well as a Buckeye Convertible Blackhawk and a Convertible Vaquero as well as 3" & 4" SP101's. I have also acquired all 3 barrel lengths of Single Sevens, a 327 BlackHawk, 2 GP100's in 327, a 3" SP101, a 4" SP101 and an LCR in 327. My handle here should give you some clue as to my opinion of 32's.

My father bought me a 6.5" Single Six in 1985. We soon started casting bullets and reloading for it. Ammo is a little more difficult to find but some good loads are out there if you look hard enough.

I have carried the SP101 with a couple of speedloaders in my pocket in both 32 & 327. The LCR is my second option now. I like it alot for concealed carry.

If you must stick with factory ammo, look at Buffalo Bore. They have some good loads.

Thanks,

32Magfan
