I don't know what made me think of it and I haven't heard of such a thing since we left New Jersey. Any of you heard of singing mice? We had one in our old house back there. I remember hearing it at night before my Dad managed to catch the thing. It's kind of like a wolf howls but it's a mouse doing it. It was pretty loud too.

I'm not joking guys. Google "singing mouse".
I can't believe I actually googled it. Yes, it seems there are 2 species of singing mice in the high cloudy rain forests of Costa Rico and Panama.........Well, I couldn't get my sound to work again, but it was on Google!!

What was it singing, country, pops, be-bop, rap? Please don't tell me opera. Of course it could be auditioning for a spot on a J.G. Wentworth ad. Inquiring minds want to know.

It was so long ago that I don't remember what he was singing. Couldn't make out the words. It was more like humming.

Cary, I know it's legal here, but just what the heck have you been smoking, and can I have some?

Most people have never heard a rabbit scream either but they do. If you're out hunting rabbits sometimes they will scream when hit if they don't die right away.

Up in Maryland, My Beagle chased a young rabbit in the back yard and it got stuck in one of the bottom mesh squares; Barkley wasn't biting it, just poking it with his nose and it would squeal. I went out to see what the noise was all about and had to laugh. I then went over to the fence and made the opening a bit bigger and the little bunny took off like ROCKET !!

They make predator calls that imitate that sound of a dying rabbit.

That's what the mouse sounded like, more like a squeal but long and sustained.

I used a recording of a dying rabbit a couple of times to trap coyotes for "removal". But one of the neighbors, who complained about my "removing" (quite legally) the local coyotes from my property pitched a royal Rosie O'Donnell. That's okay, wet dog food works just fine. Coyotes got good noses.
