Sight Help

With my eyes getting older I need some help seeing the sights. I don't want to go to a scope yet, does anyone have experience with one of the "red dot" type sights? It would go on a 4 5/8" SBH

I had a tube dot on my Bisley:

I would suggest a tube sight at first until you get some experience. UltraDot makes a sturdy unit that won't break the bank. Weigand makes a base that you can DIY.

I've had good luck with the weaver 301 mount and a bushnell red dot on my 357 BH
Bushnell red dots are about $100 and up and the 301 is discontinued but are plenty around used
