Shoulder Replacement...

Make sure you have an ice machine ready when you get home Waymo! I’ve found it is easier to have small bottles of drinking water frozen in the freezer and use them rather than using ice from the freezer to keep the circulating water cold. Have enough bottles to keep a set in the freezer and just swap frozen bottles when the ones in the machine thaw.

The upside right now is the incredible omelets this hospital makes. I'm a big eater but I could eat only one

These are delicious. Eggs, vegetables and a splash of bacon. Being now diabetic, keto is my good friend. Yum.

I hope you have a full recovery. As you probably know PT is very important. I'm 15 weeks in rotator cuff surgery. The only real limitation is I can not raise my arm without using my shoulder. PA says that i'm "cheating". So I'm working on that. Doctor said that it may a year or longer before healed but at my age I still may have limitations.

The daktari said the surgery went beautiful
. But my shoulder now is starting to wake up.
I remember when my new hip woke up. I’m pretty sure a shoulder won’t be better, 2 doses of oxy got me past that thrill ride.

I told myself this is going to be like a rollercoaster ride. Once you get on that gurney there’s no getting off till the rides over. That hip waking up was the second drop, but you know then you’ve seen the best they have to offer, and it’s whipped.

Enjoy the new opportunities that are offered up.

I would be willing to bet that this was not in the local Kaiser hospital.

Oh ya, hope the healing is quick and easy so you can get back to the fun stuff!

I just saw this. I’m glad you are coming out of it. I hope you have a complete recovery. I’m not clear what your procedure was. Mine was called a reverse shoulder replacement. Not familiar with the nerve block. They gave me a shot and put the mask gas over my face. But I came out of it pretty quickly.
I hope your recovery goes as easy as mine did. I had full range of motion pretty quickly.
Lots of prayer should help.

Best to you, Prayers for a full recovery. My wife is going through PT after she broke her arm (just under the ball at the top of the humorous and then a splinter on the ball at the top) The elected not to do surgery. After this, I'm glad she didn't. The breathing issue would freak her out o no end. She is getting better though keep your chin up.

Did you have a reverse shoulder replacement by chance? I have had three rotator cuff surgeries and the 6 months pt on each. Doc says if I tear them again it’s the reverse shoulder replacement option. Yech.
Get well.
