Should chambered round be visible?

I just noticed that I can see part of the round in the chamber at the rear of the extractor just below the loaded chamber indicator. Never noticed this before. Is this normal? This is a Ruger LC-9.

That looks like a problem. I've seen an out of battery explosion this way... well you shouldn't really see the brass on a closed breech.

Don't own an LC9 but my LCP has a witness hole where the brass is visible so you know it's loaded. Kinda weird when you have a loaded chamber indicator. Hmmm

looks good to me. probably different runs of barrels from the factory. some had a witness hole and some didnt.. if it locks up into battery fine and shoots with no case head seperations or bulging id say you're fine. it looks ok in the picture. your loaded chamber indicator is normal as well.. if it was a 40 s&w id be a little more cautious maybe, but i think you're good to go to the range.. just my opinion call ruger lol...

Your good, My LC9 has the identical witness hole, and it has close to 2500 + rounds through it. Not only is it in battery it is working as designed.

It is there as a safety function so you can see a round in the chamber.
