I am sending my Blackhawk to Ruger tomorrow morning using a FedEx Express 2nd day air shipping label that they emailed me. I picked up a medium size 2nd day air box at the FedEx store to use for shipping. Any tips to share with me? I plan on using foam type packing material and plenty of strapping tape.

Thank you,

If you have a plastic case that Ruger uses that would be my choice in a FedEx box with plenty of tape.

The one time I had to return a Ruger, a MKII, I used the factory case and they returned it in the same case.

Do you mean gray plastic, or green? Green would be rare, I think? If you have gray box, that's what ruger will return your blackhawk in. I would keep original box with gun whatever color.--bedrockfred

I think you will get back a gray box with out a label in a cardboard shipper box, but that's just my guess, I have many blackhawks, none came in a green plastic box. -- bedrockfred

I would be worried I would not get serial numbered box back from Ruger, green indeed had me puzzled?-- bedrockfred

Remove any aftermarket parts including grips if different that when ruger sent out new from the factory!

wrapped mine in plastic bag with barrier paper, rolled that up in bubble wrap. Used an old but good plain brown box sealed with strapping tape & the Ruger return label. Gun came back in Ruger heavy paper board box.
