When did they stop placing the serial number on the right frame side and place it on the butt of the New Model Bearcat stainless?

With all the 'experts' here I am surprised no one knows the answer to this.

According to the RENE guide, the serial number was shifted to the bottom of the gripframe at about serial number 93-39966 which should put the change around early 2007.

In the past Ruger always set different serial number blocks for Blue and Stainless. They did the same thing for different barrel lengths for the models that had different barrel lengths.
For Example Ruger was producing T-514 using serial numbers 26500 to 29999. While they were producing the T-514 they were producing the RST-4 from serial numbers in the low 33000 to somewhere in the 69000 range. The next serial number for the T-514s 73200 to 75700. While they were doing this the T-678 used serial number block 25000 to 27000, and 70000 to 73000 and 75000 to 80000. So as you can see Ruger used different serial number blocks for their different barrel lengths. One Caveat. There will be some overlap, which makes for an unusual consecutive pair. Sometimes they will overlap with the same serial number and that's one of the reasons for "D" guns.
