I found a security six on consignment today, pick it up for $350. The revolver is clean, shows little wear and locks up good and tight. According to the dealer it's a five inch model............according to my paper work it's a six inch model...............either way, nice clean gun!
*Ruger website show it to be a '83 model or there about.
Specks:
.357 mag.
Stainless
wood target grips
adjustable sights
5" barrel (or 6"?)

:?: dose $350 sound like a decent deal for it??
*I'm in SoCal and everything cost more here , guns + ammo and used firearms include!

I'll bet it's a 6". There are 5" models, in the Service Six, but they are very rare.

Anyway, with escalation, $350 is not a bad price for a decent Security Six.

You must already know...They're great guns.

WAYNO.

he probably just measured from the front of the frame not the forcing cone? Im betting its a 6 inch when measured properly.

Put your tape against the cylinder face and measure out to the end of the barrel. That will tell you what it is.

Unfortunately because of the crazy California gun laws; because it was on consignment there's a 30 day wait BEFORE the dros goes into effect....then my ten day waiting period starts . It will be January second before I can get my grubby hands on it. Five or six I don't really care....................took me all of about 30 second to make up my mind. It was pretty much sold before they took it out of the case..........it looked that good of shape! 8)

I think you did very well for a clean stainless, 6" Security Six in Ca.!!!!
They can no longer be imported into our state.

Good price...shot my 4" again today and it is a great shooter with my first handload tried. Very happy....shooting it single action I prefer it to my Python. Hard to beat the double action trigger on the Python with a Security Six but I don't tend to shoot them that way much anyway. Security Sixes are still a good bargain even though they have gone up in the last five years or so.
