Greetings, folks.
A little clarification is in order. In my post, I wasn't assaying to comment negatively on the Ruger snubbys; I own a standard-size Security six, and like the snubbies you people displayed, although I didn't know Ruger made them. Therefore, I apologize for the confusion and appreciate your understanding regarding my ambiguous content. What I was addressing, and I may have misunderstood what was being said, was the slogan, "Those who hammer their guns into plows, will plow for those who do not." The conventional wisdom of this statement is obvious, but I surmised this may have been a possible slur against Isaiah chapter 2, which is the promise of God that one day (when Christ rules the earth) warfare will be at an end and peace will reign. The biblical wording is that men will "beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks...." (Please understand, I don't think that day has yet come!)
Some closing remarks: First, if I missed the point, again, I'm sorry; second, please don't think me rude or offhand in my previous statement; and last, I am not trying to turn a firearms' forum into a religious/spiritual blog. I do take the Bible seriously; however, I am not an ignoramus making irresponsible statements, and endeavoring to use God or the Bible as a means to facillitate some idiotic agenda. There are enough of those folks out there, and as a college professor in an accredited, theological institution, I do my best to correct them and assist people in the theological learning process.
You guys did make me laugh with your comments, which in one sense, were understandable. Last, but not least, no personal affront to the possessor of that statement I quoted. Oh, and by the way, I love my country dearly but I love God more. Often the two are going the same way, but not always. I hope that helps a bit.
