I just picked up a security six and shot it for the first time yesterday. Everything did great until after about 30 rounds I looked down and the front pin on the rear sight was coming out. I was not firing hot round's (158 swc @1200 fps). Is this normal or something I can do to fix this?

I believe they are pressed in. I just picked up a security six and mine will push out easily with a pin. My Redhawk needs to be pushed back in occasionally after shooting. Push it back in place and keep shooting that sweet gun.

Do we get to see some pics of your new addition to the family?

The bending suggestion from Enigma works very well. You could also try a small amount of blue Locktite or take a pair of pliers and put a crimp in one end of the pin before you tap it back in. This has happened to me on Rugers as well as Colts.

Best to clean the area thoroughly and apply a little Loktite before pushing the pin back in place. You only want the Loktite in the area where the pin goes through the frame rather than the entire pin as this would basically lock the sight not allowing elevation adjustment.
