I recently bought a used 4" stainless steel Ruger security-six. Not long after I left the gun shop I noticed the barrel was not lined up with the sights. It's as though the barrel started to unscrew about 1/16".
I brought it back to the shop and the owner was totally cool about it. He said he hadn't noticed the problem when he took it in. He gave me my money back and said he'd send it to Ruger for repair and then call me back if I still wanted to buy it.
He called me today and said he just had his gunsmith fix it. He said someone put the barrel on the gun with oil on the threads and it should screw on "dry", no lube. He said the gunsmith shot it and it's fine.
I'm still planning on buying it tomorrow. Any reason I shouldn't?
Thanks...
