I have a LCR and recently put an XS front sight on. I scratched up the side of the sight and was trying to see if there was a paint or something that I could touch up with.

I also had a question on polishing stainless steel gun. Any product recommendations?

My solution?
I ignore them.

I know, it ain't for everyone

ditto :)
That's worked for me so far. After the first scratch, the next ones cease to bother me. 8)

Micro Mesh polishing products. Graduated grits on a flexible backing. You start with about a 1500 grit and goes to about 2400. Ruger SS guns are about half way in there, but I have taken out scratches with the 1500, and then work down step by step until it matches the rest.

Amazon carries them and they work on wood too.

this set works great on guns as it will get into the odd shapes and places on a gun:
