a couple of things I learned over the years messing with scoped handguns.
1x or 1.5x you can shoot with both eyes open, great for woods hunting. One of the best scopes I ever fired, a Redfield EER 1.5-7x32 was on a 30-30 TC Contender. Not sure if you can even find one like it anymore. Right up there with it was a TC with lighted reticle.
I had a 2x Burris on a Ruger Blackhawk in 41 mag. The scope was clear, but I never did get the mount base and rings adjusted where I trusted the zero.
Leupold, Burris and TC scopes can take the recoil and bouncing aorund while hunting.
the higher the eyepiece magnification, the harder it is to hold a steady sight picture.
