My 64 vintage SBH had a latch that looked the same on both sides.Like a flat blade screw head.It broke and popped out.Any idea where I can get one like it?
That is kinda what a member here said in a PM.I had just assembled the gun in the evening after taking out the conversion and replacing the origional parts.I have 4 other Ruger SA's and noticed the different latch. The next morning I carried it out to the shop to lock it in the safe. That afternoon I got it out to shoot it and the left half was missing. This gun has been in the factory return box since sept 83.flatgate":34h210m8 said:I believe you've made an error in describing your Super's Base Pin Latch.
The "flat blade screw head" style of base pin latches disappeared long before the advent of the Super Blackhawk.
One side has a standard "flat blade screw slot" and one side requires a "slot head" screw driver.
Give us detailed images if you think my description is in error.
