Palin was cited in her home town of Wasilla, Alaska, doing 63 in a 45 mph zone in her Toyota Tundra pickup.
Heck that ain't speeding, she probably does that backing out of her driveway every morning. Next time I hopes she shows them left wing Eskimo rangers some real speed. Her license plate number is "LOVUSA".

"GO GIRL!"

"LOVUSA".

Yet, she drives an Asian brand vehicle.

Just further validates my opinion of her.

What is not Asian anymore? Other than Rugers and Rubbermaid, that's about it..........

NOTE: I said Asian BRAND...I made no mention of Asian MADE.

TOYOTA is not an American/USA brand.

And, it still affirms my opinion of her.

Hi,

And in doing so, she put a lot of AMERICANS to work building her that truck, deep in the heart of Texas! :D

As for opinions, I'd like to go moose hunting with Sarah and share a campfire and a couple of beers at the end of the day any ol' time. Her ever positive attitude must look like a wooden stake to some of the energy vampires here...

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I was also real impressed with her resigning as Gov. of Alaska...that was a real feather in her cap...she luvs Alaska, too.

Just what we need as President.

Maybe you ought to dig a bit into the reason she resigned. The demoncraps pretty well bankrupted her and her family with frivolous law suits. She had the gall to take on the oil companies and their demoncrap allies tried to destroy her and her family financially. I'd rather have an Asian brand vehicle than a Government Motors or an Italian Chrysler any day. or

Aren't Tundras made in Texas by Texans? As much as I want it to happen, we haven't seceded yet!

Jap company paying American wages and taxes. What's not to like?

Just further validates MY opinion of her.

I like Sarah, Pro American, Drives a Toy, yes I think she should drive an
American brand, but that will not sway my opinion or would that stop me
from supporting her. ps

How about this, Jim Luke,-----If she ever runs for an election that you can vote in, you vote for someone else-----that'll show her!

Iowa Governor Bransted "Hwy Patrol" driver was pegged @ 90+mph on the interstate. Bransted fired the trooper who speed gunned him, followed him to verify, and then reported the incident.
I don't approve of speeding but it's not national news for a citizen to get a ticket. That said, she should know anyone of her high profile will be under the microscope.

Not to start a flame war, but Chrysler/Dodge is owned by Fiat, so that makes it a foreign-owned brand. GMC can't make a car that won't be recalled and owe the American people so much money that they will never make a profit again. That leaves Ford, which is the only American brand I would buy.

Mrs. Palin probably buys Toyota because they generally outlast American branded vehicles by about 250K miles or so. I put three transmissions in a Plymouth Grand Voyager before it got to 80K miles - never again. I drive a Honda and a Scion (Toyota). Before the Honda, a Toyota Sienna, which we traded on the Honda as we needed 4-wheel drive to get up our driveway in winter and we could not find a Toyota Sienna all-wheel drive or that would have been what we own. My boss has a 2001 VW Jetta TDI with 300K on it and it still get 54 MPH.

People who blindly buy stuff just because it is American are foolish (remember I said blindly). If they wanted American brands to make something worth buying, they would buy foreign and sooner or later, the American companies would wake up, but we subsidize their mediocrity and pay unionized labor about three time what any of them are truly worth (based on what they do). Most American companies are just like our elected officials - long on promise and short on delivery. TD

Complaining about a Toyota being a foreign company while typingon a Chinese made computer. From an American company that outscorced EVERYTHING. Why can Japanese (and others) companies make stuff here but American companies can't?

I know the answer but let's see some of the "reasons" from some of the folks.

Yup, I'd enjoy sharing a campfire with her and her family. Its a world economy, you can't decide by where the brand name is from, where corp headquarters are, or the majority of shareholders. I choose by where the nut-n-bolt jobs are. Oh, she gets a fine and maybe dinged by her insurance folks, same as me'n you.

You'll need to find some other reason to affirm your opinion on her as you have your facts wrong. If you do your research you will find the Tundra more American than most other trucks less the Ford F-150. Not only was Sarah's truck built in Texas, Toyota researched and designed the truck here in the United States employing American engineers. Things might change in the future but for now, Toyota is American friendly.

Maybe this should be another topic but have you ever paged through a Bass Pro or Cabelas catalog and tried to find any clothing that is made in the U.S.? Almost every one says "imported" next to it.

This. Not to mention that it was the Democrats' allies in the UAW's leadership that primarily benefited from the bailouts...as opposed to stockholders, investors and most of the actual domestic automaker workforce, many of whom lost their jobs as a direct result of the government's interference in the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies. To say nothing of all of the people who used to work for dealerships that were "culled" - arbitrarily, capriciously and in a partisan political fashion - at the whim of government bureaucrats.

Quite apart from that: Government Motors is also more focused on China these days than America. And Ford has had its own ongoing quality control issues...which is why these days I'm driving a Hyundai.

Not that my several previous rides met the apparent Jim Luke standard of patriotic Americanness, either:

2002 Dodge Intrepid...built by Germans in Canada.
1997 Dodge Avenger...built by Mitsubishi in Illinois.
1990 Plymouth Laser...ditto.

Indeed, IIRC, in recent years the most "American" domestically-produced car, in terms of parts content...is the Toyota Camry. So what, precisely, in this era of globalization counts as an "American" car?

It's funny, Bob Rohrman arranged factory pick up for my Subaru and we never left Indiana to get it. But it's a foreign car?

Back to the OP, as part of the "elite" she could have pencil whipped that ticket out of existence. The very fact she did get it says a lot more about her respect for the country than the maker of her vehicle. A government employee willing to place themselves under the rule(s) of law is something to be treasured.

Getting a speeding ticket? A Toyota truck in Alaska? Just felt like playing news-reporter for a day?
Wuh?

Well stated, Dave!

Well Mohavesam I'll take a shot at that.
I drove 85 through West Texas, Wyoming, Arizona and New Mexico. Occasionally I would meet a cop and he would just wave. Come on, now if you live in Alaska, Palin is the best friend you could possibly have. Give her a ticket for doing 63? If she was doing 85, maybe. How many times did you exceed the speed limit last month?

De he ask her if she was carrying heavy?
