Sad news indeed. Had just talked to a fellow there (not Jim) about some Ivory for my Colt SAA. I'm sorry to hear about this. A great person from everything I've heard or read about Jim.
Jim was one of those gentlemen who would always take time to answer a question and do everything he could to exceed his customers expectations when he did an ivory grip job or a restoration. Our world is a poorer place and heaven a richer place with his passing. One of what I consider my classiest revolvers had one piece ivory grips installed by Jim.
Gary, Jim did not do all the grip work at the shop. I believe it was his daughter who did a set of ivory birdshead grips for me a couple of years ago. If you go to nutmegsports.com I think the letter telling of Jim's death talks about the families plans to carry on.
