S&W Model 544 sighting

I was cruising the local shops and found a consignment revolver in the display case.

It was a S&W Model 544 revolver chambered in .44-40. It had a 5" barrel and was a commemorative 150 year Texas Cattle drive gun with a wooden display case. This is the first time I ever saw an N frame Smith in this chambering. Made my day. $850 was the asking price I believe.

believe it or not, I carried one on duty back in the day.......just because 44/40.......got rid of it, too expensive to feed
