S&W info

Would someone with a S&W book please tell me when sn 309103 was made there is also the letter C stamped off to the left of the sn. The revolver is what was later marked as a model 10. Im trying to help an friend sort through his small collection.

According to the info I have from another forum C277555 - C314031....1954-1956 Hope this helps and it's the correct dates. Some of the better informed members here will correct me if I'm wrong. If you go to the S&W forum you can get a more detailed answer and probably even get the shipping date, which most of them go by.

According to the S&W Catalog 4th edition the C prefix went from #277555-402923, 1954-1956. Extrapolating (I love that word LOL) the gun in the OP would likely be 1954.

Wow, I've got one about 600 from that. C 3084xx, probably made days or a week or 2 before.
