I'm helping a friend her mother recently passed away, she has started cleaning up the house she found some of her fathers guns, unfortunately they have been untouched for at least 7 yrs.
Not knowing very much about S&W's, it's a 32 cal what model is it?

2 screws are missing

Two other guns she showed me were a Webly Mark IV .38 cal
And a Winchester 1873,44 cal with a octagon barrel.

Thanks

Looks like an "I" frame, 32 S&Wlong Hand Ejector, the 3rd model....the small logo on the left side of the frame.........maybe a 4 1/2 inch barrel?? the top side plate screw and the front one that holds the cylinder crane assembly in place are "missing" and can be found, but the gun is not of that much value in the condition it is in...they made like 270,000 0f them from 1917 to 1942....now that Win 1873, she may have a great one there, they are very desireable and worth quite a bit of money, again, depends on the overall condition, but there are LOTS of guys out there who can clean them up and even restore them to a HIGH dollar value, they are what they are,one of the greatest rifles ever made........make sure she does her homework and get a couple of estimates as to its value, before she does ANYTHING with that Winchester.

I was gonna guess it was an old M&P (K frame) in .32-20. :?

I don't think the Winchester will be going any where, unfortunately it's not in the greatest condition, everything seems to be there and work properly.
I think she wants to get it appraised and restored,I'll try to get some pictures of it.
I was actually surprised to see it,most of the other stuff I saw where inexpensive project pieces that he never got around to working on.
Thanks

Rugerguy nailed it. I have one just like it...except mine's 99% Bkat makes sure I bring it to F'Burg every year. It's his when I die, really! I'm careful not to eat or drink anything he offers me

Cholo, how have you been feeling lately? By the way, I entered your name in a drawing for a free sky-diving lesson and another for a free vacation in Kabul. :D

Odie808,

The folks here can probably give you an idea of value and how to restore that Winchester. I'd love to have one of those.
