Does anyone know who is the current S&W grip sub contractor for the Model 40 grips? I called Altamont and they are not it. I know that Eagle ( 2month wait), Spegal (3 month wait) and Esmeralda (4-5 month wait) make grips. Does anyone else make grips?

Dunno if they still do, but Uncle Mike's used to have a line of VERY comfortable and functional grips (plastic). They're not pretty, but they feel great, and they're cheap, and will hold you until you can get what you really want.

Pachmayr is still cranking them out, too.

EBay is a good place to look for grips. You can sometimes even catch a killer bargain on there, too.

I make a lot of Smith grips send me an email and I can send ppics of past projects. Steve

My guess would be Hoque makes the grips for S&W, at least they were......started with the rubber type, ala Mono grips, & two piece and then went with the wood ( laminates) give them a call......
when they went to the round butt 'N' frame guns and about that time closed their worrdworking shop, ( the cost of labor and woodworking forced them to source things out......) so we find the Mountain guns and such with the Hogue grips on them......finger groove and all, and the prices of 'used' wood combat grips has really soared since......as well as their other target ones.
