S&W 10

Went to the local indoor range this morning. After I was done I checked the display cases, and found this Model 10 for $299.95. I took a look at it, was in time and refinished in a nice matte blue. Offered $220, and went home with it. I know it's not a Ruger, but it's a nice 1962 S&W.

Very nice and a great buy. Wonderful multipurpose six-gun. Ditch the Goodyear grips and put some nice wood on it and you're good to go. :wink:

I've owned several model 10's...two 2" ones, two 4" ones but now only have this one below.

Great looking vintage S&W. How rare are the 6" Model 10's from that era? My dad just acquired one in like new condition.

I don't think they are rare but where I live I never run across a 6" one for sale...or a 5" one either. The 3" ones probably aren't rare but they certainly are scarce. Of course I don't get out much. :roll:

6mm, very nice find and at a great price! They're fun shooters. I found a like new 5" 5 screw years ago and gave $300 for it. I think it's from '47.

Great find, & you will enjoy shooting it. The .38 spl cartridge is a fun one to shoot & the Model 10 is a classic in it's own right. I recently found a model 64-1 (stainless Model 10) & love fondling & shooting it!

Truth be told...the K-Frame is my favorite revolver. Have more than a few of them.

K-frame is one of my favorites as well, and a 4" model 10 is what resides by my bed at night. I just picked up another model 10 with a few easily fixed issues for peanuts - I'll fix it and enjoy shooting it.
