S stamped Bearcat

There is an S stamped Bearcat on GunBroker now. Auction number is
236279994. The serial number is not one that is normally associated with that situation. Does anyone have any information?

I'd act quick and contact Ruger records to verify it is a second, or as the seller to provide the documentatin from the RCA that it is a second per the specific serial number. It may be that the RCA is telling the seller that the "S" stamp means "Second", question being is it verified to that specific serial number, or did someone get happy with an "S" stamp.

I'd check and be happy with either source.

I checked with Ruger, and it's authentic. Don't know if CHAD15 is watching or not, but this is a much earlier gun than the RENE reference book talks about.

Nice gun!! That would be the fourth I know of in that sn range (small serial numbers) with "S" on the bottom of the frame. The others are 16487, 16867 and 17173.
So the GB gun is 18668, right?
