Are the vaquero 44 getting hard to find and what would be a good price for one in VG cond. in ss. Rick :D

I have heard they are getting harder to find. I just picked one up in the 7.5" configuration. Seller said first he wanted around $400. When I picked it up he said he would take $350. I dont see them for sale very often here where I live.

Being there are even less 7.5's if you got that for $350 you got a heck of a deal. I wouldn't let my 5.5 inch 44 SS Vaquero go for even the $400.

i just got a used blue bisley vaguero .44 4 5/8. $450 including locking base pin, oversize eagle grips and a Galco holster. i dont see them around much.

They're around with some looking and patience, especially 5.5, its most numerous length. Davidson's has done an occasional run, one fairly recently IIRC. You can spot these later manufacture by the relocation of the warning label from the side to underneath the barrel. I've got two early originals, one SS one blue/cch--love 'em.

If you can find one around $350, get it. A 7.5 will go some higher. A BISLEY VAQUERO goes high also. There's a fair assortment over on gunbroker at present. I dropped the ball on both a blue and ss 7.5 inch this week...forgot to bid one and somebody else hit the BUY NOW.

If I can find a clean Original Size VAQUERO/BISLEY VAQUERO in 357 or 44, I'll try to find a way to buy it...especially the 7.5 inch 44s.

I have found one in a 5,5 ss for 400.00 plus tax so I guess thats not a bad price.

Ruger76, I sure wouldn't sell my stainless 44's for that price. That is not a bad price at all.

Agreed. If it's in any kind of decent shape at all--and most are I've run across--I say go for it!

Saw a 4 5/8 SS about as clean a they come this week end at a "Trade Show" for $515.00 firm but it sure didn't get a second look from me. I picked up a pair w/ consecutive serial numbers that had been properly "Smithed" with Nice after market grips for 1K in 2010 and still fell good about the purchase.

There are a couple 7.5" blued ones in the local (Phx) Backpage. I don't know the status.

Ruger has done some smaller runs of them this year you see them on Davidsons site when they do, haven't checked in a while.

It is a discontiued gun so they will be getting even harder to find as time goes on, but I have the twins my 2 Vaquero 44 mags. in S/S 5 1/2" barrels.

Price wise I would say $450 and up for a blue gun thats used, $500 and up for any S/S model.

$550-$650 and up for new, or new old stock.
