I need some info on this gun.
This is a Ruger Speed Six SS-84L. The maual is marked "FOR GOVERNMENT USE OLNY. NOT FOR CIVILIAN USE".
Have you ever seen anything like this? Howmany were made? It is a complete package.

That is an overrun from one of several military contract runs. Yours is rollmarked SPEED-SIX, earlier ones are marked simply as model SS84L. The ones that are U.S. marked are a bit rarer. The "L" designates the lanyard ring.

There was also a .357 snubbie version, model SS32L.

Don't know what it is worth, some of my Patrol officers carried them at the NTC Orlando. They replaced some of the SW model 10's.

To me they are the ultimate development of the service revolver. The only improvement that could be made is to issue them in stainless.

I should add, there could be LOTS of improvements in the service .38 Spl. loads that were usually issued with them. Teddy Roosevelt had a more effective .38 load at San Juan Hill! Those 130 gr. FMJ roundnoses might really make a feller MAD!
