Ruger single shot single action

Just picked this gun up earlier today and I have to say it is one of the cleanest old Rugers I have found. A true single action single shot Ruger Hawkeye in 256 loading. The guys at the shop could not wait for me to get in to pick it up so they could ask what in the heck it was? Very pretty plum frame with red lightening streaks in several places.

Hi very nice, One that I always wanted but I am to cheap to spring for one I keep thinking I will find a cheap shooter someday I like to dream so I have a box of ammo just in case

Better start mowing lawns and collecting cans Gramps! When I first picked this gun up my first thoughts were "How cool of a single shot big bore would this thing make!" No worries though, I will probably admire this thing for awhile then let it find a new home on the easy payment plan! A buddy offered to send me some 256 ammo to shoot out of it but I know if I shoot it, I will start thinking of ways to customize it and that would just be wrong so I am resisting the urge to shoot it. ----------------------------------------- at least for now!

Great looking gun and a great find. If you are going to keep it as a collectible then you need to find a set of Black Eagle grips with the skinny neck, and replace the stainless steel grip screw with a blue one to make it look original. It's still a great find as it is.
