I bought a No. 1 RSI that had been poorly treated through it's life and needed some help.
SO I removed the wood (which was one of the only reasons I bought the rifle in the first place) and sent the barreled action to Ruger for polishing and rebluing.
They called a week or so after I shipped it to confirm they received it and exactly what work I wanted done. Not much more than a week after that, they called to tell me that the work was done and that the rust pitting didn't come out, which was a fear I had and knew I was taking a chance with it anyways. The lady I was speaking to said that they were going to do the test firing of it and it would be shipped back to me within a couple days.
So 10 days later, I'm getting a little concerned about shipping and thought about calling, but opted out due to their great communication with me up to this point.
Today I received my barreled action back from Ruger. It came in a full sized box, which I thought odd and it was packaged rather heavily for a barreled action.
Upon opening up the box, I discovered that yes indeed the rust pitting was a little less and now was blued. But what was genuinely distracting from the rust pitting was that they sent the rifle back completely stocked. I'm talking brand spanking new furniture and in my opinion not to bad figuring either.
So, for my $160.00 dollar fee for rebluing, I also got a completely new and beautifully restocked rifle.....
This Country is full of companies that could care less about their customer base... Ruger DOES NOT fall into that category. I'm not even sure what to call what they did for me... I do know a simple thanks to them would never suffice... I'm still sitting here in complete awe at what they did for me.
THANKS RUGER !!!!!!!
Restocked and the original I took off before I sent it to them.
