May not be the best place to post this, but figured collectors likely used this a lot.

So I have a SR1911 that the factory shipped to me directly via my local FFL. Too lazy to look up paperwork so used Ruger's serial number look up. Needed to get an idea of when it shipped as it has tritium sights that have exhausted themselves and no longer glow/illuminate. They are Novak sights provided by the factory to me. The older guns used a 0.215" front sight and if you use the newer 0.180" or 0.160" height sights you will have issues.

Using the serial number look up I got:

Didn't seem right so looked up my packing slip and it shipped on 12/04/2012!

Take what you get here with a grain of salt as something is rotten in Denmark!

Will eventually have to post pics of this gun as it has some minor odd features. This dates to when laser engraving was being developed at Prescott on the SR1911's and this has all the information machine engraved by a CNC. In addition it has unique wooded, one of a kind grips that were specifically produced for this gun.

Have new front and rear Novak sights ordered, and once installed will post pics of the gun.

As the old adage related to computers and computer data says, "Garbage in - garbage out".

I think it may be how their program searches the older records and what it is looking at, not necessarily picking up the last ship date from Ruger. If they restart the Letters program, hope they don't rely on what ever this is looking at!
