Ruger security six

LGS has a used security six, 4 inch asking 475.00.
Blued, in very good condition.
Is this a reasonable price?

Seems pretty much on the mark here in Minnesota or on gunbroker. If it has the box or paperwork, that adds more to the price

I would think a price closer to $400 to $425 would be more realistic at least in this area. I would offer the salesman $400 and see what he says. I just paid $425 for a SS 2 3/4" that is in excellent condition, which I considered to be a very good deal as the 2 3/4" and SS tend to bring a premium over the 4" and the blued.

So, assuming it's a run of the mill 151+ s/n, although slightly high, there's a premium for a bird in the hand, especially if it's nice.

$100 or more too high here in the rural midwest. That's the price here you'd expect to pay for a stainless 4" in the box.

I agree . I'm not a collecter though. Guess it depends on how bad you want it.

I agree with hittman . Wish I could still buy them for what I paid in the 70`s
My last new Security Six SS was $325 OTD.

I prefer to remember $240 for an excellent stainless Sec Six with holster & after market grips. I just wish I’d kept myself in as good a condition as that Sec Six still is in.

I am with you. I guess we live in the wrong states for security six sales. I would have loved to get my hands on one for $400.00. still 475.00 out the door doesn't seem bad considering the prices that are out there right now.

I bought a 4" blued Security Six less than a year ago for $400. I t was in perfect condition, except the original grips were replaced with Pachmayr's.

I just paid about 500$ out the door for a ss 4" security six thats in great shape. They are hard to find around here.
