Ruger Security Six 357 Magnum

Made in 1985. S/N is 161-375XX. Box is yellow and black with no lable. Is the box correct? Anything special about the revolver? Has factory Hogue grip panels. Should they have medallions? Thanks for the help. David

What barrel length is it? Blue or stainless?
is "RUGER" rollmarked on the barrel?
The box is correct, but the label probably came off at some point.

Stainless, 4" barrel, barrel roll mark is "357 Magnum" with three or four letters or characters after that, which I cannot see clearly. Box is hinged. Owners manual is dated 1984. No pencilled serial number on the box end and no sticker or markings on the ends.

I decided to pass on this one. Here in Canada it is classed as prohibited due to the four inch barrel length. This means that only those with status to own these can buy it and.......no more licenses for that status are being issues since the seventies! So, those permit holders are becoming fewer and fewer every year.
So, just to make you drool.....it is in NIB condition with all papers etc. for $275.00 in US dollars. Sick system but it is what we have to work with. So, no photos.

What is the paperwork involved in Canada for exporting a revolver?
Will some courier ship the gun to Europe? Maybe if sent from a gun shop to a gun shop.

Because in my country there is no problem receiving such a gun. I might be interested in saving such a piece of history myself.

I have ordered some gun related items from the US and the funny part is my country does not require an import permit but to get the US export license you need to show such an import permit. It was quite an ordeal to have the police write me an official letter stating that I do not need an import permit - their motivation to do such paperwork is close to zero as you can imagine.

Interesting....sasu and eveled.....you talk about sending here? Where is here? Neither one of you show a location! Complicating things further is the fact that we have an evil Liberal government in here now and they are very anti gun. Politics judging whether or not I can own things!

"...an evil Liberal government ..." Don't know about evil. More pro-gun legislation has been passed in the last eight years than in the last several decades.

You have to find a US dealer,, a FFL holder that also has an importers license. There are not many,,, as most FFL's are not set up to import stuff from other countries. I found a nice, rarer Ruger several years ago,, in Canada,, and the guy there & I both tried hard to find a dealer who could handle this. We found one,,, but the fees he would charge,,, combined with the shipping, the local FFL transfer fees & all made the price way above it's value.
A FFL who decided to get his importers license could make some $$$ if he focused on such stuff & was REASONABLE in his fees.

How true Contender. I have had a couple of guys here who are interested and said they would try to help. There are services which specialize but are, as you say, cost prohibitive. The problem is not on our side but is in the US regulations since 9-11. I really think they got carried away. They have the businesses so spooked that many will not ship anything here. Crazy. Here our government made all encompassing regs and screwed everything up. Their desire was to eliminate what they referred to as "Saturday Night Specials".....or the small, easily concealed handguns. In the catch all wording are included....all handguns with barrels 4" and shorter and 32 caliber handguns! So, a new Ruger single action in 32 is prohibited no matter how long the barrel. Ruger, Colt, S&W all got caught. As a prime example a brand new in box Colt Python with 4" barrel will, at some time be sent in for destruction. Sick.
