It's all in the nomenclature. Since SBR's are no longer 'taxed' but still require the hassle of NFA licensing which isn't as difficult as it used to be, the SBR is an OK alternative to a Charger with a folding arm brace.
FWIW, that is a very capable piece of equipment--especially with the addition of a muzzle device.

I will remain with the pistol brace variety, as an SBR is juice not worth the squeeze....

I've done a few SBR's...But, for a .22 Charger I'd rather just go the folding brace route.

Would at least like to see one before eliminating as a 10/22 option.

Depends on your need/want list. A Charger with a folding brace and optic is accurate enough to replace a 10/22 for many purposes while fitting spaces too small for a rifle. If you don't need that, it's just another 'Look what I got' toy.

Why not just cut n thread a 10/22 and SBR it. Same end result and lots cheaper

I bought the Charger barrel cheaper than I could have a common 10/22 barrel cut and threaded.

With all the restrictions of SBR's and having to notify the ATF if you are planning to travel across state lines with it I'll stick with keeping my braced 22-Charger as a pistol.

Checked it out. Not bad. Looks sturdy enough for relatively light duty on a rimfire.

I wanted to pick one up for my take down but they just discontinued it. Dammnnnn.

A folding stock on a take-down? To each, his own.
I've been using (take note of that word-USING) my 10/22 with Charger barrel + P&W muzzle device on the trapline for 2 months. The folding stock on it is an inexpensive 3-D printed part from ebay that has held up fairly well to the rough handling of REAL USE. I'm not really satisfied with this stock but it does the job at a price point I found acceptable.
