Ruger ring screws

Mounted a Leupold VX-2 3-9x33 EFR scope on a K77/22-VBZ. The scope was almost too short for the length between rings for eye relief.
Was surprized the stainless steel scope ring screws are very shallow torx screws. I had to be very careful not to harm the heads. Is this an issue with the shallow Ruger screws for anyone else with these rings?

I haven't noticed they were especially shallow... perhaps you have a "bad" set of screws?

You could call Ruger customer service, they are pretty good at taking care of the little things as well as the big.
