I picked this knife up a few years ago off ebay, it was from the estate of Brandon Hatcher he was a design consultant for BUCK knives.
I have no info that it was a prototype in the works or not. Like guns it can't talk so it remains forever a piece of Ruger Lore :).
Note laser etched name on left side of blade and trade mark emblem on scales.

It is 10 1/2" OA, blade is 5 3/4", weight is 1 lb. 2.8 ounces.

That's a real gem. Excellent score. It could be a little piece of history. That might be worth a little extra research.

I like it !! Very "Buck" looking.

With the "SR" bird that is RED and only RUGER on the blade is kinda some conflicting details.
I'm also surprised they laser's the Medallion vs just use a Medallion.

Too bad the "Buck" relationship did not come to fruition. I have been gifted a couple of Ruger knives and they were not the best quality.
I still have my 1970 Buck, been used hard and still cut'n & slice'n.
