I know, I know,EVERYBODY says no to Federal Aluminum ammo. But has any one had any first hand experience with it in the PCC????? Doug

I've run through 1/2 a 500 round box I got a couple of for around $100 ea. It's Syntech 115 grain. It runs fine and is pretty accurate in both the PCC&SIG. I've reloaded a little it's fine but not as good as the Hornaday or Lapua ( they cost more than I paid for the loaded rounds)!

I carried ammo from a unique run of Blazer aluminum cased 124 grain Gold Dot produced several years back. I never had any issues with it in 2-3 different handguns. I see no reason to disrespect this type of ammo.

Gee,, I must have missed the memo,, why no Federal ammo? Does the Ruger manual say not to use Federal ammo?

BTW; Mine has digested mostly handloads,, but I'd not hesitate to try Federal. Aluminum cased or not.

I don't see much risk. Surely you're not going to run the aluminum in a self-defense. But if you run it at a range, the worst that can happen is a case head separation. Not a big deal, especially since Ruger PC is always a takedown. Pop the barrel, and use one of your multi-tool knife attachments to get the case out. If this continues, well, then you tried.

The manual only prohibits aluminum case in .40 S&W guns. There's no prohibition against 9mm.
