Ruger PC9

Anyone know where I can buy a Ruger PC9? I know they are out of production, but I would love to buy one. Do they get traded in as police trade ins occasionally? Where do I find them? The only one I have seen was on gunbroker and wow, very expensive!! Thanks, in advance.

I found an early model marked "Police Carbine" at a garage sale. Paid a bit too much, but $400.00 vs a very nice early PC9 was no contest. It was really wierd. Once in awhile I will stop at a garage sale and if I see "guy" stuff and not baby clothes I will ask "any guns for sale?" Well, this guy says "what do you want? I told him PC9 thinking that he would just shrug, and then he says YEP! 10 minutes later it was mine. Not minty, but not bad at all. I was afraid to ask for more, but if I see a sale at that house again I will check.
So, you just never know. I found another in one of those free classified papers but he wanted $650.00, so I passed.

IIRC I picked my PC9 up on Auction Arms. The PC4 was Gunbroker.

Orion Arms/Kieslers had several a couple months ago priced at $400. I asked if they had any room and got it for 370 + tax. 812-284-4867.

Depends what the original O/P wishes to do with the rifle, .30 carbine ammunition is pricey compared to 9mm and if he is only punching paper or the occasional pest then the 9mm PC-9 will serve him well. If the rifle was to be used for serious work high end quality 124gr +P bonded defensive ammunition from the major manufactures should be effective at urban defensive distances (Under 50 yds) but I would rather have a 7.62x51mm if my life depended on it. The M1 Carbine does have a defensive edge with expensive defensive loadings from Corbon and Winchester over the Ruger PC-9 9mm but the effective range is still very limited and once again if trouble is knocking on the door a 7.62 battle rifle should be the one to open it.

There is a place in Feasterville, PA called "Surplus Guns" on Bustleton Pike which lately had a good number of PC-9's and PC-40's in stock. Now be warned these are Police turn-in's with some handling marks but the ones I have seen are very decent looks wise, appear well maintained/functional with the price running around $350.00, you will have to call them for further details and shipping costs.

Here's my story, which many here have heard before...

A couple of years ago we had a major weather event here in the upstate of S.C. one more severe ice storm... in the end took several days to clear the streets of trees and over a week to get power back... during the worse part of it... trees, not just branches or limbs... but big 100 year old oak trees were falling... it looked like several big pines were going to come down on our house (only one did) and my wife and I decided it was a good idea to move one vehicle up the street to the top of the hill and pack what little we could carry and be ready to get out of our neighborhood... in the packing I realized not only should I pack a pistol but a rifle would be a good idea too... I still remember to this day trying to figure out if things got really bad out there (like some folks on the internet like to imagine they will one day... SHTF) what would be best to have. I had a number of choices including an m1 carbine.... as well as minis and ARs...

in the end I made a choice.... Ruger p95 for the pistol and a PC9 for the rifle.... and 6 15 round mags...

remember,... even though we were going to take a car and drive out... I had to be prepared to carry what ever necessities we needed in the end.... did not know how far we were going to get by wheel and might need to go it on foot.
