I am looking to grab a P89 for $275 then I saw an add for a brand new P95 for $320. What should I do? The P95 is new from store. the P89 is stainless mint condition barely used

I might be in the minority on this - but I am a fan of the P89/P85s simply for the grips. Switched them out for hogues and love them. With the 95 - the grip are built in so you need a slip over grip for it.
Plus I just like the way (weight wise) that the p89/p85 handles. With big hands they just feel good.

I vote for both. Save money on your background check! 50% off! No seriously tell them you will buy both for $550 Otd and then you can decide which one is better in due time.

Since the P95 is new, I'll assume it is the safety model...
what about the P89? If per chance it is a decock model I would for sure go that way.

really you cant go wrong with either, but if the P89 is the DC model, I say get that one. otherwise, I would go for whichever one feels better in your hand. head to the gun shop and hold the p95 first, then when you see the guy about the P89, you can make your final decision. My little brother has a P89 (manual safety) and its a nice gun It has some sweet finger groove grips that I love. I have a P95. I like that the p95 has an accessory rail, which the P89 doesn't, but I like that the grips are changeable on the P89.... so there are pluses and minuses to both. Frame material is a non issues, since the polymer frame on the P95 will last as long or longer than the metal frame on the P89.

I voted P89. If it was a new P89 I would get it. I haven't seen many new ones for about a year. I kind of wished I would have gotten one when I bought my P95, not that I have any regrets about it, it's my carry gun at the moment. The P95 will more than likely still be in production for at least a few more years if you want to get one later on.
The P89DC is stamped P89DC on the slide. If it is blue or stainless.
I can't post a pic right now but if you google it I'm sure you will see.

Also the P85 didn't come as a DC model so I'm stuck there.

I own and carry both models. The P89's that I own maybe slightly more accurate than the P95's but 5 or 6 individual guns are not a decisive indicator of this. The extra 1" of barrel might be advantageous in some cases. I carried a P89 last summer simply because I got a deal on a very nice handtooled holster that I liked and I was in an open carry situation. Back home, I'm back to packing a P95 mostly because it's lighter.
