I was shooting my old 3 screw Blackhawk and the elevation adjustment screw came out. I found the screw, and the spring is still in place.

Can anyone tell me what holds the screw in place? is it just friction created by the spring? Are there detents that click with each turn of th screw?

Can I get a replacement sight if needed?

Thanks!

The screw is kept under tension by a tiny ball detent in the back edge of the screw hole which gives the screw the little 'clicks' when you turn it. If you don't feel the clicks when turning, the ball and spring might be missing. Sights are readily available from Ruger and Brownell's, etc.

also must have the proper screw, many folks just put another standard screw in and one that does NOT have the small notches all around the underside of the head of the screw, to make it go "click, click"...............need BOTH
