Ruger Old Army question. I can't find any info...

Long time no posting. I opened a small business and have a bit busy the past year or so. I am hoping flatgate can answer a question for one of my customers. He has an opportunity to purchase a stainless Old Army with a 5.5 inch barrel LNIB that seems to be a special edition of some sort. I could find nothing on the internet.

The weapon in question appears to be a standard Old Army in stainless but it came in a wooden presentation case with the Ruger Eagle (branded?) on the lid. When you open the lid up the weapon is in there along with a package of balls, cleaning rod, patches, nipple wrench, etc...The kicker is it comes with a really nice powder flask with the Ruger Eagle embossed (sticking out as it were) on the flask. i have googled the heck out of this request and I come to get the wisdom that comes from Montana.

He can get in it for $425 and I told him to jump on it. My question is whether this was something done by Ruger or an outside distributor. No pics at this time but there will be if he gets it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I called my customer and told him the word is to "jump on it" and he is going to. I could not find a number for Talo. I am an FFL so I will shoot them an email and see about getting on their list. I am just so jacked to see that Powder Flask with the eagle on it. On a side note I will be posting a pic of a flat gate I got from my dad after hounding him about it for the last 15 years. Its got some wear but has the most beautiful vintage stag grips I have ever seen on a Ruger. You gentlemen either corrupt or inspire...I have not figured out which one it is exactly but my wallet says you all corrupt! :mrgreen: (but in a good way.)

Does this 5-1/2" Old Army have fixed sights or adjustable? Is it a stainless gun or blue?
I have never heard of a commemorative or special edition 5-1/2" Old Army, although Ruger did apparently make a small batch of 5-1/2" stainless guns with adj. sights. I've only seen pics of one (without any ornamentation or extra accessories) and the model was never cataloged, but would make sense that Ruger could have made a small batch for some type of special edition.
Interested to know what more you can tell us. And if you have a serial number that would also be important as it may be close to the gun I know of.
