Ruger NR-4F Single Six Info Request

I have a consecutive pair of NR-4F's, Model 00645, that I am considering selling. Test fire date on one envelope was 01/29/2007 and the other was 03/06/2007. Odd to me that consecutive numbers would have test fire dates 5 weeks apart but that's how this pair worked out. Serial numbers put this pair right around the NR-4FL range, 268-51232 and 268-51233. These have the Rosewood (I think) non-laminate grips with SR medallions. They are unfired in the boxes with spare cylinders, all papers and the lock.

Does anyone have an idea on how many of this version were produced, how desirable they are, and a value estimate? Many thanks.

I think only 500 made. If this is the model with the rear sight that is drift adjusted left to right only. There were 500 of the 4 5/8 in model and 500 of the 6 1/2 in. model and 500 of the 5 1/2 in. model. No 9 1/2 in model made.

Thanks street, but this is the model with the grooved top strap for the rear sight.

Sir,
There are four variations of the uncataloged NR4-F revolvers. Yours are Variation 3, Very Rare only four reported, no more than 50 made.
I own the other two guns but mine are not consecutive. I value them at $600.00 to $650.00 NIB apiece.

They are a must for anyone trying to complete a set of all 4 variations and 2 sub-variations. Here's an old post of mine on the NR4-F guns.

Would these be considered yet another variation?? Take a look at those magnum cylinders and you will notice the rollmark is at the FRONT of the cylinder instead of at the rear where it normally is.

Not too long ago I picked up a NIB NR9 with the same anamoly--and let chad hiddleson of RENE know of it. My s/n is 264-87116 with a test fire date of 1/22/2007

Good eye & question,, I would not think so because the cylinder could be switched among other revolvers. I will have to dig mine out and check them. What was Chads opinion?

Chad did not indicate that he had a serial number range for the improperly rollmarked cylinders. He rather thought of it as an anamoly or someone asleep at the rollmark machine. But now it is looking to me like potentially a short run of single sixes in early 2007 may have had this?
It will be interesting to see how yours are marked when you get a chance to look at them.
Last thing we need here is another variation!!!!
