I have a new Ruger Mark III 22/45, only fired about 20 rounds in it. The Trigger pivot pin seems quite loose, I have to push it in, constantly, and I am concerned that it will fall out when I least expect it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Chuck, The trigger pivot retainer (spring) part # 29 is what retains the trigger pivot pin. Is it missing? If not, then it needs to be "bent" a little to put enough tension in the "groove" of the pivot pin to retain it!................Dick

Is this the same pin that sometimes wears an egg-shaped hole which makes it loose ? I seem to recall a problem like that Ruger solved by making a better fit pin that they would ship for free. I got some a few years back by calling them. There was a specific serial number range, though.

This is on a Mark III 22/45.

Interestingly enough, it seems I did not pay enough attention to the schematic. All the pins are inserted from left to right with THE EXCEPTION of THE TRIGGER PIVOT PIN.

That, in fact was my problem! Duhhhhhhhh

Glad you found it but the wear on the holes problem is with a MKIII 22/45.

I will have to keep an eye on that, this a brand new Mark III and just wanted to bring it to Mark II without all the magazine safety stuff, that is downright annoying
