Ruger Mark 1 U.S. Marked 1956

I have a fellow collector that has a near mint (98%) MK 1 pistol. It is U.S. marked and presumably was shipped to the Raritan Arsenal in New Jersey in 1956 together with 3999 other guns like it. It is also possible that is an overrun that sold on the civilian market, but in that case, it should not have U.S. markings. If anyone has any additional information for him, please share it with us.

Assuming it's a first contract being shipped with 4000 guns. Value depends on which contract it is. Serial number would tell. Did you get a factory letter indicating the information you provided.

Sorry, I meant to add the serial number. It is 77897, he will request the letter next week. Hope to see in Boise in 14 days?

That would be first contract . When I get home I will check if I have any more details. Not sure about Boise yet.
