few and far between for ANY company to record/save & pass on to inquiring minds as to any "service", yes, "special orders" would be on an original invoice ,but service?, no..........S&W is/ was the only one we recall that marked the return/serviced guns, at times with a "star", and others a date, or refinish mark on the inside of the grip frame.....this is NOT covered in their "letters" that cost one hell of a lot MORE than the 'proposed' service fee of $10 Ruger wants.....I do NOT think the comments above are any "rant" or off track ,but point out what the causes, effects, of random info wanting ( requests for letters) as NOTED, it seems very redundant to me, that anyone would call for a shipping date or info for any current models, being they all come with a DATED test fired cartrdige?? I know, I know they can and do get lost and separated from the gun, but their web site covers this "new' stuff pretty good, and if a person were a real , in depth collector of Rugers, and read the books, you would KNOW there are times (eras) of fire and flood damge that there are NO records!!!! pay for this information?? me thinks not.........good post, good thread, good replies and all part of a "forum"......
you want "in depth",good data, and updating?? then by all means the RENE is the way to go, or join the RCA and try and promote this from "within" a dedicated collectors group...........
