My EDC is my Ruger LC9s. Great trigger, easy to carry concealed, 7+1 capacity and mine has been 100% reliable with never a single problem of any kind. Yet it clearly is not nearly as popular as the very similar Glock 43, which is more expensive and has one less capacity. Just wondering why? Is it just the Glock name? If I feel the need for more capacity I can always carry my Glock 26, with 10+1, but as a double stack it is noticeably thicker and a bit less concealable. But maybe I'm missing something about the Glock 43.

For me the “why” is because all THREE ( yes, I’m a slow learner ) of the LC-whatever’s I owned were absolute turds.
But the G43 ate 800 hiccup-free rounds the first week I owned it. Now I own TWO.

In my experience the 43 is a lot easier for the average person to use and shoot.
The Ruger LC9s is a fine firearm...and would serve me well if I had one.
Ruger's are a quality handgun and I have no issues with them!
I have a Glock 43 and I prefer the Glock 43 for several reasons:
1. I prefer the Glock grip angle...I know, weird, huh?
2. I have a Shield Arms kit for it...3 x 9 round mags and metal mag release.
3. I have an Ameriglo TNS front sight / Hackthorne rear sight on it.
4. I have smaller-sized hands and the grip 'fits' perfectly in my hand.
5. I like the fact that it's a pocket-sized pistol or fits easily on the ankle.
To each their own....enjoy and appreciate what you have!

I’ve owned and shot an Lc9s pro since they first came out.
I’ve shot well north of a couple thousand rounds of various factory rounds coupled with my own reloads.
As of yet, I am still patiently waiting for my very first misfire or stovepipe……
The little gun just keeps on delivering.
Ps, I am not a Glock hater….I have a Glock G17 gen 3 that I will never part with, as it is every bit as dependable as my Lc9s pro!

Things are not the same as they were in 1993. Glocks are nice guns, have owned many. However with the many advancements in Technology, CNC, for example and better metals etc. There are many, many guns every bit as good than Glocks. And Many that actually shoot much better. Less vibration, recoil, etc.
The LC9S is a good gun. However snappy, the good feature is the slim design. And of course it is a reliable firearm. I personally am not a fan of Glocks, not so much the gun, but the fit. They always give me a finger blister when shoot heavily. The PSA clone is a much better choice. Better design.

Rented one once at an Indoor Range
I never shot a Glock before this.

The Ruger is a safe queen at the moment but I think it is going to get a tryout for appendix carry.
The Glock is a very comfortable to shoot.
The Ruger is quite UNcomfortable for me to shoot.
Not sure if it is my 2X paw but I do NOT shoot the Ruger much as it gets painful in a hurry.
But, It is rugged, reliable and feels very safe which, for appendix carry, is what I want.

I don't shoot very much at all. Got the 43 and thought it was going to be super but I just couldn't hit anything with it. I like the LC9 pro better. I can actually shoot it.

I carried the LC9 pro for a few years, the only reason I stopped was rust and I wanted to go up to the 357 Sig caliber. It still shot fine rusty but I did not feel that continuing to sweat on it was a good thing for the gun.
I have an LC9s and an EC9s. Like them both, but the EC9s shoots a little more to point of aim. I keep one in my truck. foe EDC, I carry a Max9 with a Ruger Ready Dot or my LCP Max. I carry my LCPII or the LC9s around the house and yard.
I have twin LC9s Pro's. What a nice little handgun to carry. I also own all manner of Glocks and they are great too. I like how thin the LC9 is, its comfortable and mine have been very accurate, or maybe just easy to shoot.

I've been shooting Glocks for 25+ years and have several of them, including a G43 and a G48. All in 9mm. I like and trust the platform, and am comfortable with it and see no reason to 'stray'. Is the LC9 a better pistol? Not for me. I have and have had my share of Rugers over the years, and many different brands of semi auto pistols, but I have never owned a Ruger semi auto pistol, nor do I have the desire to. I've nothing against them, they've just never appealed to me and I guess one never came my way.
Bought a 43 because I already owned a couple of 19's and wanted something smaller but the same basic manual of arms. Function and reliability is good. Fits well and I shoot it fine. 6+1 and an extra mag or two and it carries just fine. Sure there are other options out there. Some options work better for some people. I'm of the mind to find something that works for me--keep is simple--become and stay proficient. If the item doesn't work for me-move it along.
The Simple answer is go and buy a Glock 43 and see how you like it. I'll straight out state my prejudice.... you'll stick with the LC9s..... but I will have to say I have never shot a 43.... just 19s and 30s.... neither impressed me.
