Ruger Guide Gun WHEN?

I have someone lined up to buy my Ruger M77 boat paddle stocked .30-06.

He wants it now, but I'm not willing to let it go till I have a Guide Gun in my safe.

Put one on order today. Any insight to Rugers production schedule? Mine will be a left hand 375 Ruger.

Ordering one and getting one are not the same. Without an actual delivery date you have no idea how long it will be.

WJU You didn't actually put money down did you?

Many years ago I put myself it that boat and it Sank.

The dealer I was dealing with "was" a good friend of my fathers, and had more excuses than a $2 call girl. After waiting 8 months and seeing the GP100's in other gun shops. I had to threating bodily harm to get my "deposit" back.

He was going to charge me a fee for canceling my order, I gave him two choices get me the firearm or give me my money back. He gave me my money back with a lot of attitude.

He was out of business about a year after he opened.

Found out through people I worked with he was a real shyster and owed a lot of people money.

I guess that this is as close as we can get for the time. :)

WJU,

That is a lefty Ruger 375. :D

I have only seen them on the internet.

My dealer is thinking maybe they will be released at the NRA convention in May.

I imagine we'll see them sometime this summer.

This seems to be the norm with Ruger and has been the norm for some time. Doesn't only happen with Ruger.

People need to realize that just because they get teased with something at SHOT or on a manufacturers website, it doesn't mean they're gonna be able to get it immediately. Just the way it is.

Way my luck runs anymore it will be first week in November 2 weeks before Deer season...

Yeah before the internet you would see something in a magazine and it would be months before you would see one firsthand.

I did put money down...not a problem. I have dealt with this small gun shop for more than 20 years. I also don't mind waiting......it will give me time to put the cash aside so my wife does not notice another gun purchase LOL :)

Love the look of this gun. I think I will be using just the thread protector most of the time. I will also have to get some 375 Ruger dies so I can handload for it. when it does arrive I will most definitely post some pictures :)

I remember those days when I would use the shooting magazines to research what new guns were on the horizon. 8)

It was, and is still fun to handle a gun you have only read about in magazines and internet sites.

It is cool. I will often say, "this is the first time that I have actually seen one of these".

Have the .30-06 version here.
Fired it with five different loads & three bullet weights.
Sights are fast to pick up, in keeping with the reason behind the configuration.

The brake does work & in conjunction with the heavier African/Alaskan barrel reduces recoil markedly.
Recoil pad is a cut above Ruger's standard thin hard rubber & adds to the comfort.
The package is quick, accurate, and comfortable.

Fired it with brake, weight, and bare threads at 50 yards. Accuracy variations between all three are within normal variations encountered between loads.
Best group was three holes touching.

I've never liked the looks of extended brakes, but I'd leave it on this one. Made a believer of me. :)

Good rifle.
Thought they'd be in the pipeline by now, Ruger doesn't usually announce till they are, nowdays.

Looks just like the ones in the post above. :)
All of the different calibers use the same configuration.

I see today that there are a few starting to show up on gunbroker .

I'm going to wait and see what they are selling for right now these seam to have rape my now pricing.

.375 & .338

I like the stainless laminate, wouldn't mind one in 30-06 either. I would like Ruger to go to a weaver rail mount system one day. Being able to switch out night vision to normal scope through to a red dot depending on situations would be a good thing for that type of rifle.

The concept behind the Guide is a short-range quick reaction rifle in a potent caliber, with iron sights.
Not a tactical or long-range rifle, in this case there's not much point in a rail. :)
