HI everyone. I recently came across a Ruger flat gate single six revolver. Serial number is 58XXX.According to Ruger,the pistol was delivered February 15 1957. Has a nice plum color. All original. Heres the deal. I do not collect guns,I shoot them. I was wondering what this pistol was worth? I know a picture is worth a thousand words but I will not be able to post some until probably tomorrow. I can do a pretty decent trade at the gun shop but would rather this pistol fall into the hands of a collector who will cherish it. Nice shooter.The pistol is very accurate. I will consider trades? ALL fair offers or trades will be considered. I am a straight shooter and expect the same on any trades.Thank you. Don.

I could not get the pictures to work. I gave $375 for mine in what I would call 85% shape but it had the wrong grips. You can look on Gunbroker under completed sales. My guess is $375 to $600. Hope this helps.

You need to first put the pics in a picture server, like photobucket to get them posted here. It's not too hard, and even a stumble & fumble computer guy like me figured it out.
We'd all like to help you in value etc, but when it come to pricing something like a Flatgate, there are SEVERAL things that can affect the price. Condition, condition, condition is paramount. Next is the type & rarity. Little things can mean a lot of $$$ differences. The more details we have the better. So, if you can get us some pics, and answer a few questions, then many of us can help put a value on it.

Thanks Contender. I will try to have my kid post some better pictures. It does work for me. I drag the mouse left to right over the link,til it is all blue,right click to copy,paste on the web, and hit enter. Am I smarter than a 5th grader? NOPE.

Type IV guns were fitted with a newer design "button" on the end of the ejector rod. Evidently the "serrated" rods were uncomfortable when ejecting "sticky" cartridges in the centerfire Blackhawks, esp. the newly introduced .44 magnum. s/n range 54000-61000.
The s/n ranges are not exact but are offered to just give the collector a general idea of the ranges observed.
