Looks like it does show up on Ruger SN# search….
And SN# 751XX appears to be 1963.
As to value as described $500-$1500…🙄

Good detailed pictures could get that range narrowed….😃

The only 44 Magnum, Semi Auto, Detachable Magazine feed Ruger rifle was the 99/44 ,,, named a Deerfield. (Mfg. 2000-2006)
It's a 4 round magazine.

FWIW: A 96/44 Lever Gun & 77/44 Bolt, also a magazine feed 44 Magnum Guns.

Mine was originally purchased in '66 and original owner paid $107 for it. Yours is certainly worth a good deal more due to the debut year and Deerstalker moniker rolled on it. Great purchase 👍

Recall reading Ithaca Gun sued and the Deerstalker moniker was removed. Yep awesome to have one with that stamped on it.

Seems there's as much confusion around the Deerstalker / Deerslayer / 44 Carbine type guns ~ and their names ~ as there is PC9 / PC40 / PC Carbine.

I call all the first Gen Ruger .44 carbines Deerstalkers as it eliminates the confusion between them and the later Gen II .44's Deerfields with the box magazines.
The actual Deerstalker was only '61 and then they just removed the name Deerstalker because Ithaca sued them over the name infringement on their established Deerslayer shotgun. The 61 and later .44 carbines first gens are identical mechanically to the best of my knowledge.

Seems the Gen 2 Deerfields not around very long. Maybe lousy sales? Heard the originals required more expensive machining.

I think the Deerfields were around for about 5 years before they pulled the plug. Correct, the receivers on the Deerstalker weren't cast like most Ruger receivers but milled from solid block of steel, a much more timely and expensive procedure.
