no...peep sight guns only came in standard carbine stocks....on a side note. no Deerstalkers made with peep sites! only standard carbines in mid 60s....get RENE for the utmost information....
A couple of things. Bill Rugers Deerstalker was a RS. I think it was pictured in Ruger and His Guns. I have seen over the last 40 years a few Fingergroove sporters with the peep. Letter it if it comes back as a 44 Sporter (Fingergroove) you got it. If it don't it still might be good somebody put the wrong stock on it at the factory. The only way it would be good would letter as a 44 Sporter. Let us know.

I bought this one in 1967, Peep sight, no finger grooves.

Have a Bushnell red dot on it now. Still shoots and functions great.
