Ruger Bearcat (old model) missing pawl screw (PR56)

Anybody know if this screw can be replaced with the new model screw? It's the screw on the back of the gun behind/left/below the hammer. Called Ruger, and they said they won't send new parts out until the gun has been sent in for conversion. I'm just wondering if I can buy the new model screw from brownells and be good to go? I have the spring.
